Maximalist Millwork in a Maximalist Home

The Glengrove Project is a comprehensive millwork commission designed and executed by the Hamilton Holmes studio. Every cabinet, shelf, panel, and detail was custom-built and site-installed, forming the architectural foundation for a home deeply committed to pattern, ornament, and a total rejection of visual restraint.

Natural woods and custom paint finishes ground each space in tactile warmth, while the shapes and proportions lean toward the generously ornamental—what some have called millennial grandma, we describe as heritage-core with opinions.

From the tailored radius corners of the study to the arched cooking alcove in the kitchen, each element was made to feel permanent, expressive, and era-fluid. No room is a backdrop here. Every surface contributes to the home’s maximal design language, where materials are honoured, decoration is a virtue, and the millwork holds its own alongside chandeliers, pattern-rich textiles, and unapologetically classical forms.
